Tuning for the water
Many modern marine diesel engines — including common-rail inboard units from Volvo Penta, Yanmar, Mercury and others — run ECUs that respond well to calibration. I can optimise fuelling, torque delivery and throttle response for improved performance and efficiency on the water.
Economy maps are particularly effective on displacement hulls and long-passage vessels, where even a modest improvement in fuel burn makes a meaningful difference over a season.

Marine tuning FAQs
Most modern ECUs use some form of protection, and it's something I check for and account for before quoting. If a particular ECU can't be safely accessed with the tools I use, I'll tell you upfront rather than after a wasted trip.
Your original factory map is always backed up before I touch anything, so if an issue arises I can restore the original file. I carry out every job carefully and methodically using professional-grade equipment, and I'm always available afterwards if you have any questions or notice anything that doesn't feel right.
